About

Community councils

A Community Council is a statutory body established by the Local Authority and composed of local residents who act on behalf of their area. As the closest level of elected representation, Community Councils have a vital role in local democracy.

Community Councils consist of people who are passionate about their communities and want to enhance their quality of life.

Strathard councillors

Strathard Community Council (SCC) is a voluntary organisation run by local residents who volunteer to act on behalf of the community.

Community Councillors represent local people, express peoples’ views on important matters that affect them and collaborate with others to improve services.

Be involved

Do you want to make a difference in your community? Do you have ideas on how to improve the services and facilities in your area? Do you want to have a say on the plans and issues that affect you and your neighbours? If you answered yes to any of these questions, then you should consider joining Strathard Community Council!

A Community Council should include a variety of people so that diverse perspectives and ideas are considered. You are welcome to attend any Community Council meeting as a resident. You can listen to the discussions, share your opinions, or raise any concerns you have. Meetings are held 8 times per year, with an Annual GeneralMeeting (AGM) once a year.
